Selected by artist Nina Canell to screen alongside her exhibition Near Here at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead. Filmed in Sweden, Belgium and France by Eric M. Nilsson for Swedish television in 1979, this interview-based film, considers the futility and desires of communicating through a number of intimate conversations.

Independent Film Center Vorky Team Of Ruma Presents

Vorky Team was established in Ruma 2005 in memory of Serbo-American film artist Slavko Vorkapich. The Team organizes screenings and debates, but also produces films and hosts the International Festival of One Minute Film Mister Vorky.

Csillagosok, katonák deals with the Russian Civil War. Jancsó produces a profoundly anti-heroic film that depicts the senseless brutality of the Russian Civil War specifically and all armed combat in general.

Both Sides Now presents contemporary and historical work by some of Hong Kong and China’s most exciting artists working in film and video, and varies between animation, documentary and artist’ moving image. The films explore developments within the culture and society of Hong Kong and China over the past three decades, including work which comments upon such events as Tianamen Square and the ongoing economic development of China.
