Film: Estamira

Documentary about Estamira, a 63-year-old woman who's been working for over 20 years at a landfill in Rio de Janeiro. Schizophrenic, but very charismatic, she's the leader of a small community of old people living off garbage and has a very lyrical and philosophical attitude towards life.

Film: The Suffering Grasses

A film documenting the words of refugees who have fled from the bloody fighting in Syria. Seeking to understand the feelings and experience those exiled in camps the film presents the complex realities of international politics and the suffering of those who bear the brunt of war. Followed by discussion hosted with The Canny Little Library. Screening free but donations to Syria appeal requested.

Tracing Movements Collective traveled across Greece, Bulgaria and Italy with a mobile cinema unit, documenting a number of struggles. Sylvie from Tracing Movements will introduce two documentaries from the project - Emerging Solidarities and The Invisible Workforce.
