When You're Strange is a 2009 documentary about the Doors, written and directed by Tom DiCillo. The film features for the first time material from Jim Morrison’s 1969 film fragment HWY: an American PastoralDoors keyboardist Ray Manzarek stated that "This will be the true story of the Doors’ the anti-dote to the Oliver Stone movie which the band criticised.Narrated by Johnny Depp the film gives insight into Jim Morrison: the man the mind and the music.
