Newcastle Winter Book Festival

to
From a small library-based programme last year, this event has grown in to a real Festival, taking place accross various venues in Newcastle.
Not just with local authors like critically acclaimed David Almond and Ann Cleeves, but with folk from further afield too, such as Liz Lochhead, the second Scots Makar, or national poet, and Hugh Cornwell, author and lead singer of The Stranglers.
With quite a quirky feel - a 24 hour fringe event running at Northumbria Uni and writers being hired out to read at dinner parties!
The Star and Shadow Cinema is proud to be hosting 3 nights of this great new festival, with poetry, readings and comedy.
