We try to make popular films without talking down to our audience. Our themes are universal but come from a British outlook and it has always been important to us that our work feels real.”

10.30pmVX AUTEUR TheoryThis showcase screening features the next generation of DIY auteurs for whom filmmaking is a more rounded, personal process as opposed to clear-cut, traditional filmmaking roles. Created by Lucia Helenka, a London-based artist and filmmaker and supported by Vauxhall, the competition showcases undiscovered, talented filmmakers with a strong personal vision and hands on approach to filmmaking.Judges this year were writer and film critic Chris Darke, dragon-riding actress Sienna Guillory, Vauxhall’s Simon Ewert, Halloween’s Philip Ilson and Lucia Helenka.Come along and see if you agree with the judges choice - or get stirred up for the challenge next time round
