Step back in time to the present!
The Star and Shadow screens a series of classic silent movies, an authentic take on the experience of picture going in the 1920s.
The films will be brought to life by the very great musician Carl Heslop - playing the Cinema's 1956 Compton Organ.
If you haven't been to a film shown with live music, believe us it's a real visceral experience, not to be missed.
The organ swells, Carl pulls out all the stops and gives voice to three great classics of the era!

Directed by the phoney Count, Eric von Stroheim, Greed is one the great films of the silent era. It's an epic movie that takes on the spectacle of that first era of mass consumerism, the Roaring 20s. PLUS Live organ accompaniement!!

Wiener's film is one of the great German expressionist horror movies. With its themes of pananoia and hypnotism this dark gothic creation disturbingly anticipates that it was but a short step from Caligari to Hitler.

Film: Film: The General + Live Organ! + Lady Koo's 30s Disco! (1926)
9 Dec 2011, 7:30 p.m.
Keaton's greatest comedy. Set against the background of the American Civil War Keaton risks everything in pursuit of his beloved locomotive that has been hijacked by the goddam yankees. High paced witty and constantly hilarious the General is a visual experience to be savoured on the big screen.
