Following the Holocaust Memorial Day on 27 January, we are programming a series of 4 films, from documentary to fiction, and from well-known films to more obscure ones.
If you haven’t seen them, these are all great works recounting different aspects of the history of the Holocaust.

Film: The Pianist (2002) + Introduction

Winner of some of the most prestigious international awards (Oscar for best actor and director, Palme d’Or at Cannes), this is an astounding film based on the true story of a Polish-Jewish concert musician who survived WWII.

Film: Shoah (1985)

This is an absolutely incredible documentary, consisting mainly of interviews of Holocaust survivors. “ It is one of the noblest films ever made” – ROGER EBERT

Film: Amen (2002) + Introduction

The film, based on a German play, looks at the links between the Vatican, the Nazi regime and the extermination of Jews.

Film: The Nasty Girl (1990) + Introduction

Winner of the BAFTA for the best foreign film and the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, this film is based on a true story and tells the story of a young woman who investigates her town’s Nazi past.
