Forerunner of the 1989 film, of the same name, produced by David Putman

Film: This Sporting Life (1963)

This film must have been an inspiration for a song like Money Can't Buy Me Love. Richard Harris stars as the gauche-hard as nails, "kick my teeth in would you" , rugby league player who finds that indeed money can't buy him love with his landlady, played by Rachel Roberts. Also starring William Hartnell as the talent spotter with a love for the game and more. Anderson perfectly captures life in the "it's grim up north" 1960s with a completely unsentimental eye.

Film: Budrus (2010)

Two recent documenataries about Israel and Palestine. This double Bill was taken from the Cinmea Palestinofestival which took place in Sheffield in Noveemeber. Budrus is the inspiring stiry of a community on the route of the 'separation barrier' united and non violent. Gaza On My Mind is a first hand account of the attempt to break the blockade of Gaza by sea.
